State Of The Blog - February 2024

Well... it's not quite the end of the month... but I might as well pop this up early and share some schedules and stuff. Tonight's scheduled edition of the DTM-Cast has been scrapped and has been pushed back for next week. Given that a good chunk of the program relates to WWE news and as a result of the whole Vince McMahon/Janel Grant mess, it just didn't feel right. So I'm redoing the episode and will put it up next week... but don't expect me to broach this subject any further except in a future blog post.

Despite the current controversy, I'm still going ahead with the Ramblemania Rewind, which is something I've been wanting to get off the ground for years and it's either now or never. I did see parts of the Rumble last night, but not all, and so there will be a Royal Ramble post next week, as well. After all that is done, however, we'll see... but then we'll see whether this latest Vince news would've come up or not.

Anyway, slightly more pleasant updates after the break...

This week is Vectrex Week II: ReVectrexoning... I don't know, you come up with a better subtitle because I can't think of any... and no, "none" or "nothing" or any other variation doesn't count. Anyway, Monday to Friday will feature a video review of a Vectrex game... all of them pulled from the multicart gimmick that I bought last year, but no doubt can be acquired individually... though in the case of one of them, why would you want to unless you're a miserable ugly bag of mostly water?

Review #1035 - ???? (Vectrex)

Don't read too much into that last one. I have no clue what that slot is going to fill.

Once we get Vectrex Week II: The Wrath Of Vectrex out of the way... okay, that one is slightly better... it'll be back to the Mon-Wed-Fri upload schedule, and this month's offerings will be nothing but fan requests. I've made mention of this in a prior update, but the idea is that I wrote all the requests I've gotten over the years on cards, slipped those cards in envelopes, and dropped said envelopes into a box.. and then what happens is that at the end of each video, I'll pull out an envelope and whatever comes up will be the subject matter for the next video. As such, it'll be a proper random experience as opposed to... well, I don't know, the usual random experience that isn't so random to me.

One minor change... last week of February's upload schedule is slightly different in that the usual Friday review will be uploaded on Thursday, instead. Reason being is that we're in a leap year and I'd very much like to have a review posted on February 29th. I'd like something happy to happen on a leap day for once.

It's been delayed... and for once, it's due to creative reasons rather than lack of time, as the write-up read like trash and I really wanted this to be nice and special. I'm trying to make these things come off better than usual and if that means giving it a little more time, then so be it. However, with the Ramblemania Rewinds in the works, a lot of this stuff is going to be lost in the shuffle... so I'm going to hold off for a couple months until that's done and then we'll see what happens. April, as a whole, is looking to be a big shift for the blog in general and I'm looking forward to sharing the new stuff with you all.

Okay, enough with the gag... anyway, if all goes well, I'm hoping to have one up this month... no confirmation on that. We're going to spend a bit of time

That's the general gist of things. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, kids.
