No Need For Theatres

iWith things starting to open up, there eventually comes a point where movie theaters will allow full capacity and there's going to be the ever-present question of whether anyone would show up. And I'm not going to speak for everyone, because everyone has a different answer. Some would more than welcome the opportunity, others could care less, and some wouldn't consider the idea as long as it meant supporting the cesspole that is Hollywood nowadays.

As far as I'm concerned, I have no interest in going back to theatres any time soon.

I hadn't had the urge to do so long before this pandemic hit, there was nothing that warranted it, and quite frankly, with the past year showing the true colors of those in the movie business and how they really feel about the common moviegoer, I really don't want to support that kind of attitude and if I'm going to be looked down upon and treated like a worthless commodity by the people who make this stuff, then why should I support them in a monetary fashion?

I would claim that if a movie came out that peaked my interest, I'd wait until it hits Netflix... but I let my Netflix subscription expire last month and didn't miss it one bit. Anything that I would've wanted to check out, I already have on DVD, Blu-Ray, or even VHS, which still works. So, all I got left is the WWE Network and the Crave service that comes with Bell... and I can get by with those along just fine.

This isn't a hard stance, by the way. Chances are I'll jump back on the Netflix train down the line if there's some retro content worth checking out and if my brother fancies a film worth the big screen experience, I might bite... but for now, I am more than content to stick with other means of getting my cinematic fix... from 20-30 years ago when movies didn't suck.
