Congratulations To Batman V. Superman for its Razzie Presence

The 37th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards has awarded their Razzies this past weekend and I felt due to give my congratulations to the very prestigious and deserving Batman V. Superman: Yawn Of Justice feature film in its numerous nominations and award wins. No doubt Zack Snyder, DC, and Warner Bros. are thrilled by being nominated for seven categories (and TWICE in one area) and winning four of them. I mean, that doesn't take a whole lot, but goddamn, kid, that's quite an accomplishment nonetheless.

Batman V. Superman: Yawn Of Justice were nominated for the following:

Worst Picture
It lost out to Hilary's America: The Secret History Of The Democratic Party, another documentary in a history of documentaries depicting the secret history of secret histories and stuff.

Worst Director - Zack Snyder
Resident crack pot Zack Snyder lost out to Dinesh D'Sousa, who directed the Hilary documentary.

Worst Actor - Ben Affleck
Mr. Affleck lost out to Hilary director Dinesh D'Souza, who played himself in the movie. On a side note, this is the only nomination that I would disagree with. The former Daredevil did fine as Batman (even with the gravel voice) and did the best he could with mediocre material.

Worst Actor - Henry Cavill
Yeah, that's right. This movie got TWO noms. Cavill as Superman? More like Cavill as Super Cardboard.

WINNER! Worst Supporting Actor - Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor
Honorable mention goes to fellow nominee Jared Leto as the Joker in that Suicide Squad film, which got only two noms here. Given the choice between the two, Eisenburg as Luthor is the deserving choice.

WINNER! Worst Screen Combo - Ben Affleck & Henry Cavill
Well, I suppose that explains the Affleck nom.

WINNER! Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off, Or Sequel
Other notable nominations include Independence Day: Resurgence and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadow... neither of which I've seen yet.

WINNER! Worst Screenplay - Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, from the characters created by DC Comics
Suicide Squad's second nomination is for its screenplay.

Just for comparison's sake, the only other movie to garner an equal number of nominations was the Ben Stiller vehicle Zoolander 2 and it only won ONE SINGLE AWARD; A Worst Actress Razzie for Kristen Wiig, who also starred in that Ghostbusters remake that apparently nobody likes. (For those wondering, I've yet to see the film, nor am I in any hurry to do so.)

The other big winner of the night, Hilary's America, won four of its five Razzie nominations, losing out Worst Screenplay to Yawn of Justice.

The Independence Day sequel, Resurgence, snagged five nominations, but came away empty handed.

Again, my belated congratulations to Warner Bros, DC Comics, Zack Snyder, and crew for their sublime performance at this year's Razzie awards. You guys got exactly what you deserved.

On the bright side, Suicide Squad won an Academy Award for Best Make-Up, beating out Star Trek Beyond. No Oscars for Snyder, though... so that's something.
