What the fuck?
And for once, it has nothing to do with excessive amounts of curses.
It's a strange glitch that I happen to come across while playing the Symphony of the Night game included in the Drac-X Chronicles game. When you begin the Alucard portion of the game, you'll come across a room where a cutscene with the Reaper begins and he takes your more powerful weapons and leaves you with nothing but the pot roast you collected or something.
Now from what I understand, to bypass this sequence, you're supposed to jump into one of the wargs (the big wolf things) who is supposed to knock you past that room and into the next vertical room, thereby skipping the cutscene and keeping your powerful goods.
Thing is this; when I entered the Death room, I stopped briefly and turned back to the other hall with the wargs. I then went back into the room and no cutscene happened. Not wanting to chance anything, I jumped off the platform and onto the ground. Still nothing. And so I left the room and continued onwards, equipment and all.
So is this something that has happened before or did I just luck out this? My guess is that I missed the hotspot which triggers the event, but I don't know if this is supposed to happen. If someone knows what I'm talking about and has an answer, I appreciate it.
Anyone who has bothered to read my Bite commentary (specifically the last one) knows about my attempts to put up some video reviews of certain things like video games and movies... because that sort of thing has never been done before. Right, well, I was planning on the first video being a review of the scant number of PSP games that I have (specifically the Drac-X chronicles). Unfortunately, I don't have a HDTV and to do video of PSP video games, you need the component video cable, since the regular AV cable does movies. So the first video (should it ever materialize) will probably be on some old NES game.
Damn you, PSP and your wide-ass screen. Oh well, I suppose if I ever do need video reviews of more recent games, I'll just use some random screenshots or something.
Managed to snag Midway Arcade Treasures PSP for a cheap price. For the most part, I picked it up because it had all three old-school Mortal Kombats on it (the only ones worth getting in my opinion - although the recent 3D ones are kick-ass too) and while it has some decent titles like Defender, Gauntlet, and Joust, some of these other titles are baffling choices. I mean, Wizard of Wor? Toobin? Where the heck is Smash TV? I want my Smash TV dammit!
All in all, it's not bad. But the game selection could have been a heck of a lot better.
I'll probably have more details on what these video reviews will comprise on the next commentary, which is to be released on Leap Day. Look it up if you have no clue what I'm talking about.
